[CALL FOR DESIGNERS]
MAX ON THE SENNE
The North Quarter, mostly known for its bad news, fake news and no news, is nevertheless in a state of flux and is experiencing the biggest redevelopment of public space since the infamous bruxellisation of the 1960s.
The Maximilian Park, which runs from the city centre over the Lakense Haard to the Becodok and is 9 hectares in size, will be completely redesigned. This mission deliberately combines a great diversity of design questions in order to create a coherent urban project: a continuous open space with a clear identity and perfect accessibility.
Part A of the mission comprises the opening of the Senne, a new building for the Maximilian educational farm, the reconstruction of Bolivarlaan and Redersplein intersection, and of course the reconstruction of the Maximilian Park itself. The mission is complex and ambitious from a technical, urban and landscape point of view.
Part B of the mission consists of an extensive process of communication and participation. The aim is to offer a quality park for everyone, regardless of origin, status or culture.*
This mission is part of the City Renewal Contract (SVC or CRU) no. 1 Citroën-Vergote. It is a joint tender between Brussels Environment administration and Brussels Mobility administration. Brussels Environment is project holder from preliminary design to urban development permit application and is looking for a multidisciplinary team to study, design and organize participation for this public space.
BUDGET : the maximum amount for the complete execution of the works is 14,613,299 € excluding VAT and excluding budget for participation and communication.
FEES: The fee for part A is estimated at € 1 276 108.80 excluding VAT, i.e. approximately 8.7% of the estimated execution amount. For part B, the fee is fixed at a flat rate of € 231,818.18 excluding VAT.
GRANT : 20,000 € for each team that is invited to submit a tender and submits a regular tender. For the winner, this amount will be considered as an advance on the fee.
The bouwmeester maître architecte accompanies the procedure of the project and will take part in the selection committee and the advisory committee.
