The Bockstael district has undergone a great deal of change in recent years, and it’s not over yet! As part of the sustainable neighbourhood contract, numerous projects have been developed,\u00a0such as Place Bockstael, Line 28 Park, Rue Fransman and the pocket parks. \u00a0Now it’s time for the Bockstael Boulevard to get a makeover.<\/span><\/p>\n

The boulevard is one of the main axes of the district, on which the various forms of mobility are conveniently organised. However, even if each function has its own place, it cannot be said that the quality of the public space can only be guaranteed by functional design.
\nThe redevelopment of the Emile Bockstael boulevard is an opportunity to rethink the sharing and quality of public space, where cars and parking currently occupy a majority of the space, and where vegetation, living comfort and the quality of active modes of transport take second place.<\/p>\n

Beliris is looking for a multidisciplinary team to respond to three major challenges: improving safety for all by complying with Good-Move and reducing car speeds, combating heat islands by improving and reinforcing the landscape infrastructure and managing rainwater, and improving the quality of public space by taking into account the commercial dynamics of the district.<\/p>\n

The perimeter of the mission, from place Alexandre Pouchkine to rue des Horticulteurs, is perceived as a whole composed of 3 segments, each with very different characteristics and development profiles. The redevelopment of the boulevard must be coherent while meeting the specific development needs of each section.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
