However, nearly 40% of the Sonian Forest is situated on the territory of the Brussels Region. The Sonian Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site, has been fragmented by the Chauss\u00e9e de la Hulpe that runs through it. To counter this division and preserve biodiversity, Beliris is creating a wildlife crossing to allow animals to safely cross the road. This passage, called Ecobridge, will include resting areas and water points for animals. In addition, the bike path\u00a0along the road is also fragmented.
