{"id":5454,"date":"2018-04-04T09:30:31","date_gmt":"2018-04-04T07:30:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bma.brussels\/?p=5454"},"modified":"2021-08-22T14:57:37","modified_gmt":"2021-08-22T12:57:37","slug":"call-loi-130","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bma.brussels\/en\/call-loi-130\/","title":{"rendered":"LOI 130"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The European Commission is launching an international architectural competition for its most important current real estate project in Brussels \u2013 the redevelopment of its premises at rue de la Loi 130.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>ASSIGNMENT<\/strong><br \/>\nWith a total gross floor area of between 175,000 and 190,000 m\u00b2, the new inner city complex will include offices for at least 5,250 people, 2 childcare centres, a visitor centre that can welcome 345,000 people a year, 3,000 square meters of restaurants and shops and public spaces with green areas. The project will also include a new entrance to Maelbeek metro station.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROCEDURE<\/strong><br \/>\nThe competition invites teams composed of architects, landscape architects, building services engineers and structural engineers from around the world to come forward with forward-looking, innovative, sustainable and cost-efficient proposals for the project.<\/p>\n<p>The competition is a restricted two phase competition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Phase 1 &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>30 teams will be selected and will be invited to present an initial outline design concept. Based on each entry\u2019s merit,\u00a0the jury\u00a0will select a maximum of 10 candidates from phase 1 for participation in phase 2.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Phase 2 &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>The candidates admitted to phase 2 will be invited to submit a more detailed design concept for the project. The jury will award three prizes for the best design concepts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p>The European Commission provides a budget of 900.000 \u20ac for honoraria and prizes, of which 300.000 \u20ac are designated for honoraria in phase 1, 300.000 \u20ac for honoraria in phase 2 and 300.000 \u20ac for prizes in phase 2.<\/p>\n<p>In both phases 1 and 2 the respective budget for honoraria will be divided into similar shares among all candidates who submit a detailed design concept conforming to the requirements laid down in the competition brief for the respective competition phase.<\/p>\n<p>As regards the amount provided for prizes in phase 2, the jury will award three prizes for the best design concepts (120.000 \u20ac, 100.000 \u20ac and 80.000 \u20ac).<\/p>\n<p><strong>CALENDAR<\/strong><br \/>\n27 March 2018 : Launch<br \/>\n4 May 2018 : Deadline for applications<br \/>\nJuly 2018 : Selection of the candidates<br \/>\nAugust-October 2018 : Working period 1<br \/>\nSeptember 2018 : Candidates&#8217; colloquium<br \/>\nJanuary 2019 : Jury Meeting \u2013 Phase 1<br \/>\nFebruary \u2013 April 2019 : Working period 2<br \/>\nJune 2019 : Jury meeting \u2013 Phase 2<br \/>\nJuly 2019 : Projects exhibited<\/p>\n<p><strong>USE OF LANGUAGES FOR APPLICATIONS<\/strong><br \/>\nBulgarian, Czech, Danish, German, Greek, English, Spanish, Estonian, Finnish, French, Irish, Croatian, Hungarian, Italian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Maltese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The European Commission is launching an international architectural competition for its most important current real estate project in Brussels \u2013 the redevelopment of its premises at rue de la Loi 130.
