De prioriteit ligt daarom bij het autoluwer maken van de wijk ten behoeve van mensen die gebruikmaken van zachte vervoerswijzen. Op die manier kunnen de bewoners hun leefomgeving opnieuw toe\u00ebigenen. Hiertoe worden een aantal acties overwogen, zoals ingrepen op de belangrijkste verkeersaders in het hart van de wijk en op kruispunten die als gevaarlijk zijn aangemerkt, op zijstraten om het gehele bouwblok te bestrijken en het verbeteren van de veiligheid in de buurt van scholen en voorzieningen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In dat kader lanceert de gemeente Sint-Gillis een opdracht voor heraanleg om het leefbare en landschappelijke karakter van de publieke ruimte in de Zuidwijk te verbeteren.<br \/>\nDe autoluwe heraanleg van de publieke ruimte vergt dat alle wegen, van gevel tot gevel, onder handen worden genomen om zo de veiligheid te verbeteren.
