Door de ligging tussen verschillende ontwikkelingsprojecten (Usquare, campus Oefenplein, enz.) vormt het ook een mobiliteitsknooppunt voor pendelaars naar nabijgelegen tram- en bushaltes. De NMBS wil dit station een grondige make-over geven. Het moet een effici\u00ebnt en comfortabel intermodaal knooppunt worden, goed ge\u00efntegreerd in de omgeving . Bovendien ziet de spoorwegmaatschappij hier een kans om de nieuwe \u2018stationstypologie\u2019 waaraan zij momenteel werkt, in de praktijk te brengen.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>De NMBS denkt namelijk na over een manier om alle diensten voor de reizigers in een nieuwe, herkenbare stationstypologie onder te brengen. Die zal vervolgens op andere projecten overal in het land worden toegepast. Deze typologie is gebaseerd op drie componenten: overkapping, functionele cellen en uitrustingen. Het station van Etterbeek wordt zo een van de eerste sites waar werk wordt gemaakt van deze nieuwe architecturale identiteit. Er zal echter geen kant-en-klaar recept worden toegepast. Het project moet in de complexe stedelijke omgeving worden ge\u00efntegreerd om de ontwikkeling van het gebied te ondersteunen en tegelijkertijd het spoorwegerfgoed te valoriseren. De NMBS is daarom op zoek naar een\u00a0ontwerpteam dat zich de nieuwe typologie eigen kan maken en een project op maat van de site kan uitwerken.<\/p>\n<p>Het project heeft natuurlijk betrekking op het station, maar ook op de openbare ruimte, het stationsplein en de perrons met hun toegangen, met name om het de gebruikers met een beperkte mobiliteit makkelijker te maken.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Het station van Etterbeek is een echte toegangspoort tot de stad en de naburige universiteitswijk.
