Set up in 2014, Technicity.brussels is the leading vocational training cluster located in the Brussels-Capital Region. A first centre was opened in 2019 on the Erasmus Sciencepark site and, in response to the growing demand for training in the industrial technology sector, some training courses are also dispensed in a building on the Chaussée de Mons in Anderlecht. However, given the building’s general state of disrepair, these activities will soon be discontinued. Hence the need to create a new centre.
The programme includes the construction of a training centre for adults in the fields of welding, industrial electricity and industrial mechanics. This project is also an opportunity to pool all of Technicity’s activities in the same neighbourhood of the Erasme site. By building on the range of training courses available in the initial building, this new project will ensure the continuity of the training courses proposed by Technicity.
Beliris is looking for a multidisciplinary design team for the design of this new building. At the application stage, only the core skills of architecture, stability engineering and special engineering are required. The additional skills of EPB advisor, acoustic expert and BIM expert will be requested at the tender stage.
The architectural and planning qualities should reflect the values of simplicity, sobriety and efficiency. This project will be an opportunity to boost the visibility of Technicity.brussels’ activities. The flexibility of the spaces and sustainability will also be key considerations.
