Following the call launched a few years ago for the redevelopment and enhancement of the public spaces of the Esseghem site by Lojega, currently under construction, the Municipality of Jette is taking a new step in strengthening its green and blue network: the Parc des Maillages. Long envisaged within the framework of the Magritte Sustainable Neighbourhood Contract without being able to be implemented, this project is now being revived with renewed ambition. The aim is to transform the vacant land located between the railway line and the Esseghem site into a park of approximately one hectare, conceived as a true green lung for the neighbourhood.
This future public space seeks to enrich the local green offer, strengthen access to the “inhabited park” of Esseghem, and provide a welcoming and accessible place conducive to social interaction, rest and leisure for all age groups. Embedded in a broader vision, the project also integrates the development of section C212 of the cycle–pedestrian path, thereby reinforcing landscape continuities and soft mobility at the municipal scale.
To carry out this mission, the Municipality of Jette is launching a call for a multidisciplinary team capable of delivering the entire project, from the design of the public spaces to construction supervision, fully engaging in a collaborative and knowledge-sharing process.
