GO! Anderlecht

A place for culture, education and meeting

The project for the restoration, renovation and construction of new school buildings for the “GO! Academie Beeldende Kunsten en Atheneum” located on Place de la Vaillance in Anderlecht, is part of the “GO! Onderwijs van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap” initiative to transform the school into a true catalyst for the neighborhood. In connection with the future redevelopment of the square, this initiative presents a unique opportunity to create a new urban dynamic and strengthen the Academy’s central role within the municipality.

This project requires a meticulous approach, combining architectural quality, heritage, preservation, sustainability, and urban integration. In addition to the greening of existing plots, the multidisciplinary team in charge must have expertise in restoring historic buildings while developing a contemporary educational infrastructure. The objective is to propose a design in which new constructions, renovations, and restorations reinforce each other, creating spatial interventions that establish a harmonious link between the site’s heritage and future ambitions.

It is essential that the selected multidisciplinary team exclusively uses Dutch in its verbal and written communications with the client, both during the competition phase and throughout the execution of the project.
