Since 2015 and until the end of 2024, Kristiaan Borret is Bouwmeester Maître Architecte. To conclude this mandate, we are pleased to present a book, compiled by Jan Denoo and Hedwig van der Linden, that looks back at a period when Brussels architecture gained international recognition and the practice of urban development changed. It illustrates how the city is made and experienced today, covering both formal tools and informal practices that, together, form the soft power of BMA. This book embraces complexity, like Brussels city life itself.
Join us for the festive booklaunch, which also celebrates Kristiaan Borret’s 10 years in office. The book is presented in Usquare’s main building, with various speakers, music and party. Véronique Patteeuw will guide us through a varied programme with guest authors from the book, as well as Ans Persoons, David Leisterh and Kristiaan Borret. You too can have your say, as there is room for some short contributions from the audience. So whoever wants to say something, prepare yourself!
Please register here and indicate in which language you would like to receive your free copy of the book (French, Dutch, English). After the event, the book will be available at BMA offices for a limited time. After that, it will be distributed by publisher Walther und Franz König.
