“Party !” This is the 57th recommendation of the “Visitatie” of the BMA. The other 78 recommendations are now available on our website. Today, we are publishing online the report written by CityTools and Architecture Workroom Brussels following the Visitatie process they carried out in 2021. The aim was to organise collective reflection on the function of the BMA, in particular by consulting various Brussels, Belgian and international stakeholders during round tables, to take a look at the way this function is exercised today and how it evolves. The full report – the recommendations are only one part – is available on our website.

We are now implementing this 57th recommendation: On Friday 24 June at 4pm, we invite you to a discussion around the Visitatie, which will be followed by a Garden Party in the gardens of the Pacheco 44 building, the former headquarters of Crédit Communal. This will be an opportunity to discover this building, symbolic of 1960s modernist banking architecture and recently the subject of a competition supported by the BMA to redevelop it into a new student hub. The event will begin with a presentation of the Visitatie results and continue with a discussion of architectural culture in Brussels. This discussion will take place in a fishbowl format, where those present have every opportunity to share their opinions. To close, we will share a drink in the garden of Pacheco 44, a little known urban oasis designed by René Pechère.
