Maison de L'autisme

The Maison Bruxelloise de l’Autisme, is set to move to the usquare.brussels site in Ixelles. The Société d’Aménagement Urbain (SAU), the urban development corporation, is launching a call for
tenders for the renovation of a group of heritage buildings and central courtyard. This project is part of a new district earmarked for family and student accommodation, as well as university facilities. Particular care must be taken to ensure the privacy necessary for the smooth running of the Maison de l’Autisme.

This mission comes in the wake of a programming study that identified four key elements for the Maison de l’Autisme’s work, all of which are closely linked to spatial requirements.  The aim is to create a new structure to meet the guidance and support needs of people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and their families. The space must fulfil this vocation by serving as a ‘home’, a haven of peace designed specifically for this target audience.

The SAU is looking for a multidisciplinary team with skills in architecture, landscaping, stability, special techniques, EPB consultancy, acoustics, health and safety coordination and BIM coordination.
