The process to appoint the next BMA was launched already before the summer of 2024 and applications have now been received for some time. Pending the formation of the new government, the current government decided last week to compose the selection committee that will assist in the appointment of the next BMA. From the more than 60 candidates who responded to the call, the following have been named as members of the committee: Renaud Chevalier, Michel Karolinski, Sarah Lagrillière, Jos Leyssens, Nathalie Renneboog, Julie Willem and Stéphane Damsin als chairman of this selection committee.
It was also decided to extend Kristiaan Borret’s term of office, on a partial basis, from 1 January for a maximum period of four months, in order to ensure the continuity of the BMA’s activities.
