Among the 3 areas selected by the Brussels Region to benefit from a sustainable neighbourhood contract is the Petite Suisse neighbourhood in Ixelles. Freshly integrated into the ZRU 2020, this area will benefit, for the first time, from the impact of urban revitalisation.
The Petite Suisse area is surrounded by major arteries: Avenue Adolphe Buyl, Avenue Arnaud Fraiteur, Avenue de la Couronne and Boulevard Général Jacques. These large urban boundaries divide the area within them, making it difficult to get around and communicate with the surrounding area. Having not been the subject of any urban regeneration programme, the neighbourhood suffers from a lack of accessible and functioning public infrastructure that meets the needs of the diverse public that lives there. Efforts will be focused on the creation of housing, mobility, facilities and green spaces and the strengthening of the presence of social actors. The aim is to create more cohesion between the different profiles of the residents of the neighbourhood who cohabit rather than live together.
The municipality of Ixelles is therefore looking for teams to draw up the basic programme and the environmental impact report within the deadlines and in accordance with the procedures specified in the legislation of 6 October 2016.
