This newsletter has already been published on 23 May 2023. We inform you that Brussels Mobility has published a corrective notice. This is about additional information about the project Tram Tour & Taxis but also about an additional grant for the bids submitted by the candidates. The competition grant for the 3 best-ranked teams remains unchanged, but a grant of € 5.000 will now also be awarded to all other teams that submit a regular bid and achieve a minimum score of 50%.
Brussel gets a new tram line. It is the tram line linking the Belgica roundabout to the Central Station, passing by Tour & Taxis. A preliminary study has already established the route of the tram line and defined the profiles of the streets to be redeveloped. The route of the line was divided into two sections and this contract focuses on the section between Belgica and the North Station.
This new tram line is an opportunity to improve the quality of public space, to respond to the needs of users, and to implement the regional mobility plan Good Move. The redevelopment of the public space will have to propose solutions to diminish heat islands, manage rainwater, increase inclusiveness and promote positive mobility.
In order to carry out this complete contract of project design, Brussels Mobility is looking for a multidisciplinary team. The team will have to coordinate the studies for the tram line with neighbouring projects such as the Maximilian Park, Rue Picard, Avenue du Port, Boulevard Simon Bolivar, etc., in order to facilitate the insertion of the tram into the changing fabric of Brussels.
Interested candidates are invited to submit a bid proposal in one step, no later than 04.07.2023 at 10 AM.
