MAGRITTE

CREATING LINKS TO MAGRITTE

Characterised by its isolation between city limits, infrastructures and large boulevards. The Magritte Sustainable Neighbourhood Contract therefore aims to resolve this situation by reconnecting the three hubs identified during the diagnostic phase. And it is now the “pivotal” hub, the nerve centre for meetings and exchanges between the different sections of the public that make up the district, which is the subject of this new tender.

The flagship project of this Neighbourhood Contract consists of the construction of a Community Centre and a Social Diversity Centre within the “pivotal” hub. The tender focuses on the “Social Diversity Centre” part, and more specifically on the bike-repair-café and collective kitchen which will be combined with the main programme. This facility will be supervised by the voluntary sector but will mobilise the resources of local residents and neighbourhood users of the district while providing a special place for meetings and exchanges.

The project will take place in the small street Esseghem, more precisely in the small square where Jules Lahaye street crosses.
