[CALL] WETTERENOISE

[CALL FOR PROJECT DESIGNERS]

WETTERENOISE IN BIRMINGHAM

The former site of “La Wetterenoise” bakery is established in a neighbourhood undergoing great change, that of Rue Birmingham. It stands out by its location close to the canal and the alternating presence there of sites in operation or in the process of being redeveloped, and small residential buildings dating from the last century. Therefore, it is an extremely strategic site where the Brussels-Capital Region housing company (SLRB) wants to locate 75 social housing units and an open-air sports facility. This project also contains a heritage challenge since the aim is to maintain and renovate part of the present building on the street level and include it in a coherent project.

Therefore, the SLRB is launching a tender for the appointment of a multi-disciplinary team (architect, stability engineer, special techniques engineer, EPB adviser, health and safety coordinator) in charge of the entire study and works monitoring mission for the construction of about 75 housing units and an open-air sports facility in the frame of the “Alliance Habitat”. The site of the project is Rue de Birmingham 53-55 in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, inside the perimeter of the Heyvaert PAD/RPA’s project.

BUDGET: €13,236,330 excl. VAT.
FEES: 12% of the estimated cost of the project’s budget.
GRANT: €8,000 awarded to each of the teams invited to tender who have submitted a regular bid. This amount is considered a fee advance for the winner.

The bouwmeester maître architecte accompanies the procedure of the project and will take part in the selection committee and the advisory committee.
