AN URBAN ART CENTRE LINKING THE UPPER AND LOWER VALLEY

Standing on the Avenue de la Couronne, the Townhouse is linked to the lower Maelbeek valley via its garden. The Townhouse is owned by the Municipality of Ixelles and underwent a major renovation in early 2000.
A temporary use launched by the Municipality is underway, paving the way for the conversion of the site into a cultural centre.

As part of the 2021-2025 City Policy Programme, the Municipality of Ixelles is launching a contract for the light renovation and upgrading of the Townhouse to house the definitive project for an urban centre for expression and creation, as well as the landscaping of the adjoining garden in the interest of opening it to the public. It is looking for a multidisciplinary team (architecture, stability and special techniques engineering, noise exposure plan consultancy, landscaping and acoustics). Due to funding constraints, this contract includes a conditional part for the execution file and the monitoring of the garden works.
