The Royal Atheneum of Ganshoren is a primary and secondary education institution, spread across three sites within the municipality: the « Marie de Hongrie » site (primary education and part of lower secondary), the « Léon Theodor » site in Jette (upper secondary), and the « De Cock » site (lower secondary). Due to the dilapidated state of the « De Cock » site and the absence of certain essential functions (canteen, gymnasium, etc.), a complete reconstruction and a comprehensive rethinking of the organization and layout of the site are planned. It should be noted that the demolition of existing buildings and the clearance of surroundings are not part of this contract and will be carried out beforehand.
As part of this general reorganization, the « De Cock » site will be dedicated to students of the general and technical qualification upper secondary level (sports instructor, accounting, and visual arts). The project for this new construction will have an estimated gross floor area of 10,852 m² and must include the following spaces: cafeteria, secretariat, administrative offices, sports halls, laboratories, classrooms, sanitary facilities, etc. In addition, the surroundings of the rebuilt area will be redeveloped to include green spaces, playgrounds, and covered play areas.
To successfully carry out this project, the contracting authority is looking for a multidisciplinary team with expertise in architecture, urban planning, landscape, structural engineering, special technical systems, and EPB. Providers for acoustics, signage design, and furniture will be appointed after the procurement procedure.
This project is overseen by the cellule.archi , ensuring a coherent and high-quality approach to the reorganization of this institution.
